My muses seem to really want me to write a rainbow story, as I have had a couple people suggest the word rainbow, but what really clinched it was this photo by my good friend Beth Wagoner who (obviously) is a highly talented photographer and all-around awesome person. I had to do this one by hand again, so I will update my totals later tonight when I have a chance to do some typing. I know I am a little behind on my word count already, but I have a feeling this weekend might yield some longer stories so I can make up for lost ground. In the meantime, I am just glad I've been able to keep up with the story-a-day goal!
Title: Chasing Rainbows
Muse: Beth Wagoner
Story Word Count: 967
Total Word Count: 4631
Summary: Chloe and Ben are best friends who often spend their lunch breaks away from work sitting on a park bench and making up stories about the people around him. When Ben subtly tries to reveal he has deeper feelings for Chloe, she doesn't respond the way he hopes, and he walks off, convinced he's pursuing a lost cause.
What I Like About This Story: I left it really open ended, so the reader isn't sure if Chloe really doesn't have feelings for Ben or if she is simply that thick-headed that she hadn't noticed he was in love with her. For the most part, this is a lighthearted, dialogue-heavy story, and I really enjoyed the dynamic between my characters as they bantered back and forth in the park. It was a fun one to write!
